In this release more releasepublished when Emilie was twenty-eight it’s no secret that she was actually born inas Emily Autumn Fritzgesthe new poetry seems just as lacking with originality as to be high schoolish dribble, very tedious, very boring. Mar 22, Sharon rated it did not like it. There are some absolutely charming poems in this book, but many of them rather miss the mark. Some writings from her teenage years went on to be songs on Enchant. I did try to like them, but in the end, I think I only enjoyed three poems.

The paperback printed version of this was released inas across the sky and other poems, however, did not contain many of the new poems added to this edition which was released in Most of autunn were also very simple or just plain bad and it was sufar how Emilie constantly used ”thy” and ”thou”.

Her natural speaking voice would have been fine and would have felt more personal. This book is also very good. Her poems are wonderful, full of deep thoughts and emotions. Plague Rats, and those who need some good poetry time. I don’t like Autumn’s dishonesty which makes me find it difficult to take even something like her poetry seriously. Upon the release of her Shakespearean-themed concept album, Opheliac, Emilie found herself an overnight star in Germany’s industrial rock scene, and began touring extensively.

The poems are simple and most of it are cheesy, but I like it. Want to Read saving…. They were kind enough to link me to the eBook and so I thought I’d give it a go. Although many never heard of if until it’s digital re-release in because Autumn didn’t really become acknowledged untilaurumn.

She inverts words for no apparent reason and wrenches stress. Dec 30, Zsofi rated it really liked it Recommends it for: Nov 17, Amber rated it it was ok. Still young but doesn’t change the fact that untouches released this audio later on. In truth I hated this release the most.

Always, she has this ugly tendency to fake a more intellectual accent that is so irritating, I had to listen to this record in six parts to complete it. This book as stated by autumn in her bio on facebook ists other sites was actually written in her early twenties.

It would have been more fluent if she lost this habit she has of trying to sound kensington when she’s Malibu. But, you know, why not? She forces rhymes where the poem would be very lovely without rhyme. I enjoyed it as much suar I enjoy everything that she does.

My favourite poem of the whole lot was On Artistic Integrity ; as an amateur writer who has been writing creatively ever since she was old enough to pick up a pen, this poem spoke to me on so many levels. Al Out of all the books by the author this was my favorite. I confess that I am not really a fan of poetry and would not have picked this up were I not an avid Emilie Autumn fan. I think when taking into account she was 24 it’s no secret that she was born in when she published the first paperback I would have preferred to have just read it because I could have ignored the aggravating voice and accept she was just in her twenties.

Oh chocolate, thy shalt save the world in times of need and desperation, when thy force thyself to spend the night listening to poetry that may be of use if thy have to set up a tragical play with only 10 euros. I would recommend her instrumental recordings but not her books sadly. That’s English, possibly because it doesn’t sound as intellectual as Miss Autumn is trying to sound over compensation does not make a convincing performance, but then again this is someone who thinks Oxford Uni is in London and that Cockney is a nationality.

The writing in ‘s enchant was whimsical and fresh, the few poems on this release taken from ‘s across the sky and other poems, written in her early-mid twenties, at age twenty four, not teens as also wrongly advertised by the author, who states her spoken word to have been performed earlier and by a ballet company I see no evidence where, and so, feel it must just be another lie to try suar impress.

The poems are written by Emilie Autumn between the ages of 13 and 18, so some poems are obvi I bought a PDF version at the Asylum Emporium, along with the audio album, which I find a necessity along with this, cause you get the feeling more. Jan 11, Roland rated it did not like it. Her poems show a spark of that gothic-ethereal vibe that’s present in her songs, but not always.

Her best project will always be Opheliac which I would consider more of her debut because this was when she was finally recognised and started to gain a following.

This book was released in Although she saysher site wasn’t existent til the latter of this year and she barely had a fan base untilone year after this was actually published in Doing the math this was written in her twenties not her teenage years.

Which is what I am reviewing, infor the first time she released the audio version with this new version. The compilation seemed to transition between several phases from start to beginning.

With her Victorian burlesque-themed stage show and signature heart painted on her cheek a unifying symbol devotedly replicated by her international fan base known as “Plague Rats”Emilie fast became a sensation throughout Europe and the United Kingdom before touring in America, South America, North America, and Russia.
